Boost Your Productivity Using These 5 Free Apps

Working from home has a lot of benefits, but there are definitely times when it becomes hard to separate work life from personal life, leading to decreased motivation and productivity levels. It also became more challenging to stay on top of things and to get everything done on time.

Luckily, there are a lot of free applications and technologies that can help you organize and prioritize your tasks. Here are five unique apps that can help boost your productivity:

1. TODOIST

Todoist is a free task management app that lets you easily create and track daily to-do lists. Each task can be elaborated further and can even be repeated on recurring days. Tasks can be sorted through the use of sections and sub tasks. Todoist can also generate reports and productivity visualizations of your daily and monthly progress. It can connect to other apps such as Google Calendar and Dropbox for an integrated workflow, which syncs with all your devices.

2. NOTION

If you’re looking for an all-in-one workspace, consider using Notion. It is easily customizable, with a variety of functions. Use it to track your projects and tasks, or even to organize notes and documents. Notion offers hundreds of templates in multiple fields such as product, engineering, HR, design, sales, and marketing. You can even create your own templates, and share it with other Notion users. The application is completely free for personal use, but a paid plan is needed to add collaborators.

3. FOREST

Forest helps you stay focused on the important things, such as high-priority tasks. If you need to concentrate and lessen distractions (especially from gadgets), just plant a tree in the app, which will slowly grow while you do your work. Leaving the app half-way through will cause the tree to die. Staying focused on a daily basis while using this application will allow you to eventually grow a forest. You can also track how much time you’ve spent on specific tasks. Interestingly, the creators of the app have partnered with an official tree-planting organization, so using this app will not only boost your own productivity, but help the environment as well.

4. HABITICA

If you’re looking for a more interesting way to build habits and encourage productivity, try Habitica. It allows you to “gamify your life,” since it tracks the progress of your habits and goals through a simple fantasy role-playing game. Create your own avatar that can encounter in-game rewards and punishments (that correlate to your real-life tasks) to unlock in-game rewards. You can even battle monsters together with your friends and conquer tasks together!

5. TOGGL TRACK

Toggl Track is a simple time tracking application, aimed to help people produce better work. Its features include one-click timers and background tracking, which means that the application is able to automatically track every website or application used for more than ten seconds. Toggl Track can also provide reports in various formats, which can even be scheduled to be sent to your email so that you won’t need to log in to view them. Aside from calendar integration, it also offers over a hundred app integrations so you can easily keep track of your tasks.

Using even just a couple of these programs can make completing goals and tasks much easier. Get these apps for free on your device by downloading them from the app store or visiting their official websites.
