LOFTERS GET FIT WITH MNLFIT EASTWOOD

Despite sore muscles for days after working out, there’s nothing like stretching, sweating, and sweet, sweet endorphins rushing through your body when you finally exercise. Exercise is always a challenge for any working professional in the fast-paced world of deadlines and quotas. That’s why Loft has partnered with MNLFit Eastwood, and other fitness establishments in the district. It’s not just about hustling at work, you also have to make an effort to be fit and healthy.

Loft Community Manager Sabina Santiago reached out to MNLFit Eastwood Head Coach Effrey Cruz in an effort to engage her coworkers in a stronger, healthier lifestyle. Coach Effrey, with coach trainee Keith, oriented the Loft team on the basics of their gym philosophy: it’s not a matter of looking good naked, it’s about allowing yourself to reach your full physical potential. Being physically fit isn’t just about having six-pack abs or toned glutes, it’s also about being ready for any situation that life throws at you.

At MNLFit Eastwood, it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, a moderate gym-monkey, or an expert athlete. They cater to all fitness levels, but especially beginners. See, beginners can be hesitant at first, intimidated by all the gym equipment they have to learn as well as catching up with their peers who have been training for a while. Plus, there are also the numbers of reps and sets that you have to keep track of to monitor progress. On top of it all, there’s the matter of keeping correct form and posture so that you’re actually doing the workout correctly, and not injuring yourself. The trainers and coaches at MNLFit are ready and willing to help you reach your fitness goals.

THE BOOTCAMP

For yesterday’s bootcamp, held at Loft’s event space, Coach Effrey prepared a 5-station workout: 50 Jumping Jacks, max reps of Goblet Squats, max reps of Kettlebell Swings, max reps of Push-ups, and max reps of Sit-ups. It’s the perfect rotation for beginners since it’s not meant to push you beyond your limits, but is designed to gauge your capabilities. Tracking the number of reps that you do allows you to check your progress for every succeeding workout. The Loft team underwent an exhausting, but exhilarating exercise — a welcome break after doing office tasks the whole day.
